Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 p.m. EDT Wednesday 23 April 2025 for today tonight and
Thursday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 p.m. Thursday.

Western Lake Superior.
Open water except 1 tenth thick lake ice along parts of the northern
shores. CONSOLIDATED rotten thick lake ice in Black Bay, Nipigon Bay
and the extreme northeastern section of Thunder Bay.

Eastern Lake Superior.
Open water.

Whitefish Bay.
Open water except 1 tenth thick lake ice in the eastern section.
CONSOLIDATED rotten thick lake ice in a few bays.

North Channel.
1 tenth thick lake ice. CONSOLIDATED rotten thick lake ice along
parts of the shores.

Northern Lake Huron.
Open water.

Southern Lake Huron
Lake St. Clair
Western Lake Erie.
Ice free.

Georgian Bay.
Open water except 1 tenth thick lake ice along parts of the northern
shore.

Eastern Lake Erie
Western Lake Ontario.
Open water.

Eastern Lake Ontario.
Ice free.

Northern Lake Michigan
Green Bay.
Open water.

Southern Lake Michigan.
Ice free.
